True Luv

Mi have wan fren name Jane, weh live a Peru. She start out as mi Spanish tutor, but since den she become more like mi fren. Up until recently, mi wuda meet wid Jane 2 or 3 times a week pan Skype, depending pan wi alternating busy schedules. One night, Jane seh via text message that she wud not mek it a wi lesson cause she afi work late. Ina ar text, she also seh that she did sad dah day dere.

She explain to mi dat in Lima, wan whole neighborhood did afi get evacuated due to wan strong smell a gas. In di evacuation, wan 13 year ol bwoy name Luis an him family did lef dem residence only fi realize seh di family pet did lef inside. Di young bwoy wanting to save him beloved pet, rush back ina di house fi get him.

As him a cum back out wid di dog ina him han, the gas ignite and di apartment explode up ina flames. Di young bwoy did get injured bad bad bad, an suffered 80% of body burns. Him cling onto life fi five days before him pass weh. ☹  Di dog did get injured to but him survive.

Sad story deh every weh, but dis one did hit mi haad. Di ting about life is, wi almost afi be desensitized to dese sufferings round we, or else we aguh get consumed wid grief 24/7. No one can sustain deep grief fi a long time, or dem wudn’t be able fi function.

Mi point is, mi read tragic story all di time, but dis one did feel more personal fi wol heap a reasons. Mainly dat – you have a bwoy, 13 years ol, who in a one daring act of selfless-bravery, sacrifice him life fi true luv. Him demonstrate a model a behaviour dat every single one a wi fi aspire fi follow. It nuh macho fi admit, but when mi hear di story, mi choke up and mi eye dem start wata. It is a heart-wrenching tragedy- sad but beautiful at di same time.

My cat, Purdee, weh deh wid me fi 12 years now, is a gift. Mi was neva a cat person until mi find her a kitten, abandoned an a meow near di elevators pan di 13^th floor a di apartment complex mi did live ina. Mi did attempt fi find di owner, but no one did respond back. Inevitably, mi end up becoming attached, an mi keep ar. If Purdee was eva in danger, mi know ina my heart dat mi wuda guh outa mi way fi save ar; jus like weh di bwoy did do fi him dog. Dats how deep di luv is. Dat is true luv. Some might read dis an tink di writer is pathetic. – maybe. But mi nuh tink seh it’s pathetic to luv someting or someone suh much  dat yuh willing fi walk ina danger fi it. Dat is about as brave as any human can be! When mi hear di story bout di young bwoy, it amplify mi fait ina people dat ar inherently dedicated to true luv.
